Wellbeing, Retention, and Recruitment in Today’s Workforce.
Managers and Supervisors in central New York report that they spend an average of 40% of their time on issues related to employee struggles with mental health and wellbeing. Partner Dawn Lanouette will join Dr. Joel Bennett on the discussion on strategies for improving workplace wellbeing as well as considerations for hiring and working with those who may be in recovery from addiction or mental health issues.

Joel Bennett, PhD, CEO, Organizational Wellness & Learning Systems
Joel Bennett, PhD, is CEO of Organizational Wellness & Learning Systems, a small business he founded in 1990. Dr. Bennett is very familiar with small business development through his two-year participation in small business incubator and accelerator programs (with TechForthWorth) and through commercialization assistance programming with the National Institute of Health. In addition, he has submitted two patents and has studied wellness programming in small businesses. Dr. Bennett’s latest book “The Connoisseur of Time” is available for free download from www.presencequest.life.
Dawn J. Lanouette, Partner
Dawn Lanouette counsels unionized and non-unionized employers on all aspects of their relationship with employees from recruitment to termination. She provides training to Executives, Human Resources Personnel, and Managers and Supervisors on legal obligations and best practices. She drafts and reviews employee handbooks and employment policies, and provides regular advice to clients on complying with the myriad of federal and state labor and employment laws. She also counsels clients concerning wage and hour law, and provides assistance with audits of exempt status and gender equity. When the relationship sours, Ms. Lanouette represents employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York Division of Human Rights, the Department of Labor, the Occupational Health and Safety Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. She is a frequent writer and speaker on labor and employment issues.
