Sophie Bergman is Special Counsel with Hinman, Howard & Kattell and is a member of HHK’s Domestic Relations, Matrimonial and Family Law, Municipal Law, and Criminal Law Practice Groups. She represents clients in a wide range of divorce and family matters in both Supreme and Family Courts, as well as handling felony and misdemeanor criminal cases in Broome County Court and local courts throughout the county.

What made you decide to be an attorney?

Primarily, I think being an attorney is one of the best ways to help people.  However, over the last seventeen years I have also learned how versatile the legal profession is and how many options there are for attorneys to do and try new things – which has been an added bonus.

What was your high school mascot?

A falcon.

What is your favorite musical group?

My daughter and I are enjoying Gracie Abrams and the Lumineers at the moment.

What is a new skill that you would like to learn or are currently trying to learn?

I would love to try my hand at calligraphy.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I have always wanted to go to Hawaii to swim, snorkel and surf!

What is the best concert you have ever seen live?

I saw Matchbox 20 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC when I was a teenager – one of my first concerts and the full experience was really special.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza – I love a good slice.

What is your favorite quote?

Carpe diem – it was my high school yearbook quote and still rings true today!
