Hinman, Howard & Kattell is saddened at the passing of our colleague, friend and long time partner John G. Dowd. John rejoined the firm as Special Counsel January 1, 2019 as a member of our Energy and Environmental Law, Tax Law, Business, Corporate & Securities Law, Wills, Trusts & Estates and Commercial Real Estate Practice Groups. Throughout John’s career he was active and engaged in his community including serving as Director and President of the Catholic Education Founding of the Southern Tier; Board Member, Binghamton University Athletic Council; Director, Mirabito Family Foundation; Member, Notre Dame Monogram Club; Member, Notre Dame Alumni Club of the Southern Tier. In the past John Dowd has also given his time to AVRE (f/k/a Blind Work Association), the AVRE Foundation, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Calling hours for John will be held this Thursday, May 9 from 4 to 7 pm at McCormack’s Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10 at 9:30 am at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Hinman, Howard & Kattell organization are with John Dowd and his family.
