About

Paul Marthy was born and raised in the Capital District and has deep roots throughout the area.  Prior to pursuing a career in law, Paul worked in the public sector. He’s been practicing law since 1992 and was with the Breakell Law Firm prior to joining Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP.

Since being with the firm, Paul has dedicated the bulk of his practice to construction law. Paul has experience advising clients before, during, and after disputes arise. He has worked with clients during contract preparation and review; job dispute negotiations; and when necessary through mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Paul has been a litigator his entire career, he has extensive experience in state and federal courts and before state and federal administrative law judges.

Paul also handles residential and commercial real estate matters, business formation, succession planning, acquisitions, mergers, and transfers.

Paul is an active member of the Northeastern Subcontractors Association, the Associated General Contractors of New York, the Eastern Contractors Association, and the New York State Concrete Masonry Association. He has lectured before these and other industry groups.

He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Albany County Bar Association.
