About
Mr. Garvey is Special Counsel and focuses his practice on labor law and litigation. He is a graduate of Siena College and Boston College Law School and holds a L.L.M. in taxation from New York University. After graduating from law school, he served as a confidential law assistant to Hon. John T. Casey, New York State Supreme Court Justice. He is also former Counsel to the Lake Placid Olympic Organizing Committee.
Mr. Garvey has extensive experience representing clients in labor and employment litigation, public sector collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, education law and municipal law matters. He represents a number of community colleges and municipalities in the Capital region. He has counseled executives on various matters, including the negotiation of employment contracts and severance agreements. He also advises clients on matters including employment laws and regulations, formulation of employment policies and practices, internal investigations, labor audits, and employee training.
His litigation practice includes representing clients in commercial and personal injury cases in trial and appellate courts. He is admitted to practice before the New York State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
