Jennifer A. Cusack

Jennifer A. Cusack is a partner in the Albany, New York office of Hinman, Howard & Kattell LLP and is a member of the firm’s Elder Law & Guardianship and Wills, Trusts, & Estates practice groups. Jen focuses her practice on Medicaid planning and estate planning and administration. She enjoys creating personalized estate plans to manage assets, minimize estate tax, and protect assets from long term health care costs. Jennifer has extensive experience with both drafting estate planning documents such as wills, irrevocable trusts, revocable trusts, health care proxies, living wills and durable powers of attorney and administering trusts and wills. She assists clients with creating and administering Special Needs Trusts to enable disabled individuals to retain government benefits.  Jennifer has also prepared many Medicaid applications to allow clients to qualify for Medicaid both in the community and in nursing homes. Jen also helps clients qualify as the guardian of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Jennifer is an active member of the scholarship committee of the Holy Cross Club of Northeastern New York and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of The ARC of Rensselaer County and the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market.
