About
Jeanette (“Jenny”) Warren is a Partner in the Litigation and Labor and Employment Practice Groups at Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP. Her practice is centered on litigation of complex commercial matters in Federal courts, state courts, and local courts, as well as municipal actions and arbitrations.
Jenny’s clients include commercial and residential real estate developers, health care providers, financial brokers and numerous small and medium size businesses in all trades. In addition to counseling her clients to prevent litigation, Jenny also successfully litigates complex cases when compromise is unproductive. Her background in aerospace engineering gives her unique insight into technical and scientific issues, as well as the ability to understand complex financial transactions.
Some of Jenny’s successes include:
- Won a total defense jury verdict in the commercial divison where the Plaintiff was seeking in excess of $60 million for a failed real estate development;
- Won a verdict in excess of $18.5 million for breach of a commercial lease agreement;
- Received a decision dismissing class action wage and hour claims against her clients;
- Successfully defended a commercial landlord in a case, and recovered all back rent and late fees in excess of $1 million;
- Successfully brought a preliminary injunction action to enforce a four (4) year non-compete; which was upheld by the appellate court;
- Won approximately $10 million including punitive damages against former employees and their new employer for breach of a non-solicitation agreement and tortious interference;
- Successfully argued commercial lease issues before the En Banc Pennsylvania Superior Court;
- Received a decision forcing the recusal of an entire Board of Supervisors and their Solicitor regarding any matters that a certain developer brought to that township;
- Successfully defended an appeal of a zoning change, permitting construction of a $150 million office building on time and preventing the landlord from losing a long-term tenant;
- Forced Wachovia/Wells Fargo to provide permanent financing for a $70 million shopping center, where there were complex derivative investments and alleged penalties; and
- Successfully defended a frivolous claim and recouped $175,000 in sanctions to cover the client’s attorney fees.
