James S. Gleason

James S. Gleason is a Partner and Chair of the firm’s Litigation practice group. He also serves on HH&K’s Executive Committee. Jim is an experienced trial attorney who has successfully represented businesses and individuals in all types of litigation including personal injuries, employment, unfair competition cases and commercial disputes. Jim also represents hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice actions and professional disciplinary proceedings.

Jim’s practice includes complex litigation in both federal and state courts, in arbitration, and before administrative agencies including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and New York’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct, Office of the Professions, and Division of Human Rights. He has also handled numerous appeals in both state and federal court.

In recognition of his skills, professionalism and civility, Jim was named/has been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2008. He serves on the Advisory Committee of the New York State-Federal Judicial Council, that provides input on issues of joint interest to the state and federal judiciary. Jim is the recipient of the Broome County Bar Association’s Ted Sommer Trial Advocacy and Stephen D. Smyk Mentoring Awards.
