About
Erin A. Cummings is a partner and the Chair of the Firm’s Trusts, Estates and Wealth Planning Practice Group and a member of the Elder Law and Guardianship practice group.
Erin regularly represents families in Surrogate’s Court, assisting them with navigating the probate and estate administration process. She also advises clients regarding their estate planning needs, establishing a cohesive plan through drafting Wills, Powers of Attorneys, Heath Care Proxies and Trusts.
Erin assists families in Surrogate’s Court to obtain guardianship over family members with intellectual or developmental disabilities and establishing Special Needs Trusts for those individuals.
Prior to joining Hinman, Howard & Katell, Erin represented fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate proceedings throughout the New York City area. She also regularly served as a Court Appointed Guardian ad Litem in Surrogate’s Court.
Erin received her J.D. from New York Law School in 2008 and her B.A (summa cum laude) in 2005 from Binghamton University. As a native to the Binghamton area, Erin is proud to serve her community. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of The Broome County Humane Society and ACHIEVE.
