Miriam R. Schindel

Miriam R. Schindel is a Partner at Hinman, Howard, & Kattell in the White Plains office, focusing her practice on executive compensation, matters arising under ERISA, and International Employment Benefits and Art Law. Miriam also handles compliance matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Prior to joining the firm, Miriam was Deputy General Counsel of Unilever and Associate General Counsel of Sears & Roebuck (Chicago headquarters). Previously, she was an associate attorney at the firms of Proskauer Rose and Kaye Scholer Fierman Hays and Handler. She is a frequent speaker before various professional groups including the New York State Bankers Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Conference Board, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the International Research Institute, and on WVOX talk radio. She is also co-editor of Language and Cognition (Plenum Publishing, 1984).

Miriam is dedicated to serving her community, and has served on subcommittees of the Business Council of Westchester; on the Board of Trustees of the Mamaroneck Historical Society; as an Associate Commissioner of the Mamaroneck Landmarks Advisory Commission; as Vice President and Trustee of the Mt. Kisco Community of Peace Association; as Secretary and Treasurer of the Bedford Central School District Parent Teacher Association; as Treasurer and Trustee of the Pound Ridge Historical Society; and as an elected official of the Pound Ridge District Library during its period of public fund raising for facilities renovation and expansion.
